HEPATITIS B TEST

A Hepatitis B test checks for infection with the Hepatitis B virus (HBV), which can cause liver disease. The test detects markers in your blood that indicate the presence of the virus, past infection, or immunity from vaccination.

HEPATITIS -C TEST

A Hepatitis C test checks for infection with the Hepatitis C virus (HCV), which affects the liver and can lead to chronic liver disease if left untreated. Testing involves various blood tests to detect either antibodies to the virus, the virus itself, or determine the specific strain of the virus if an active infection is present.

SYPHILIS TEST

A syphilis test is used to detect an infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum, which causes syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection (STI). The test typically involves blood tests to detect antibodies or the bacteria itself. Syphilis is known for progressing through stages (primary, secondary, latent, and tertiary), and early detection and treatment are critical to avoid long-term complications.

hiv pcr test

While the fourth-generation test is highly effective for routine screening, the HIV PCR test (Polymerase Chain Reaction) is the most sensitive test available. It can detect the presence of the virus itself (HIV RNA) rather than waiting for the body to produce antibodies or antigens. • What it detects: HIV RNA (the virus itself). • Window period: As early as 10 days after exposure. • Details: The HIV PCR test can detect very small amounts of the virus in the blood, making it the best option for those who need to know their HIV status as soon as possible. It’s especially useful for early detection, such as in cases of recent high-risk exposure or for newborns born to HIV-positive mothers.
